Private Guitar Teacher: Mr Ian Cooper

 

Overview

​

You have requested to receive Guitar Tuition. This will occur at a private residence,

on the agreed day for a 30 minute lesson each week throughout the year during the School Term.

 

Prior to your first lesson commencing there will be a complimentary evaluation to help ascertain your musical knowledge and guitar playing abilities. This will assist in developing a progressive lesson plan that is tailormade for you.

 

Depending on your abilities your weekly lessons may include all or some of the

following:- Learning music theory, Guitar technique, Music-reading, Aural skills and Musical expression, through a gradual range of more challenging lessons.

 

However, the ultimate purpose of the Guitar Tuition is for you to enjoy playing and learning about music.

 

Fees

 

There are two alternate fee structures on offer for Adult Learners.

 

1. Based upon a 10-Week Term regardless of the length of School Terms. Fees will be adjusted if you start during Term. Each Term of 10 x 30minute lessons will be $400.

2. For those who wish to have a more flexible arrangement, you can pay for 6 hours of lessons and use your time as you desire, either a 30 or 60 minute lesson on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Each set of 6 hours of lessons equates to $480 (which is 6 x $80 per hour).

 

Fees are payable in full at the start of each Term or period. This is to show your commitment to learning the Guitar.

Guitar lessons will not commence each Term or period until Fees have been received in full.

 

Fees will increase minimally each year in order to reflect inflation. If additional lessons are required by the student a per lesson price will be specified by Ian.

 

Payments can be made through Direct Debit, or Cash. Banking details will be supplied separately. If using Direct Debit please include your last name as the reference on your transaction record for Ian’s benefit.   

 

Missed Lessons

 

If you miss a lesson due to illness, other commitments or family reasons then please give Ian no less than 24hrs notice otherwise regrettably that lesson will be considered void with no refund. For those on a flexible arrangement each lesson time will be made at the end of every class. If a lesson is missed due to the above reasons, then it also will be considered void with no refund. However, if Ian misses a lesson, then Ian will endeavour to arrange a make-up lesson at a time convenient to all.

 

Expectations of Students

 

Undertaking Guitar lessons requires a significant commitment from you, represented in the fees and the time taken to practice each day. As part of this commitment, Ian expects   

the following from his Guitar students:

 

• To be willing to put in effort away from their weekly lessons in the form of practice. Ian expects his students to practice every day where reasonable, in order to reinforce their learning and to improve their playing.

 

• To communicate with Ian if they have any specific problems or questions, either about the lessons or material being learnt, so that they can be resolved promptly.

 

• To come with an idea of goals that the student wishes to attain, both short term and long term.

 

Communication

 

It is vitally important that you and Ian share an understanding of the mutual expectations required for your Guitar Tuition.
